DKV burial insurance has worldwide assistance cover (basic): If death occurs abroad during a trip of up to 90 days, transfer of the deceased to the place of burial in Spain is covered.

In addition, if the insured companions cannot return by the initially planned means, DKV assumes the cost of their return transport. If there are children under 15 years old without a companion, a person's travel to assist them during the trip is also included.

It is a daily allowance or benefit for each day that the insured person is admitted to hospital. At DKV, the cover is extended to a limit of 365 days of hospitalisation.

Some companies apply waiting periods ranging between 20 and 90 days from the date of taking out the insurance for funeral cover.

Hospitalisation cover has a waiting period of 3 months (except due to accident) and childbirth cover has an 8-month waiting period.
