Funeral service provision
Adapted to the uses and customs of the town/city of residence. In comparison to a traditional funeral, it is a service that reduces the environmental impact and brings new meaning to death from an ecological awareness standpoint.
Regulatory capital
To cover any possible extra costs incurred between the service contracted and the one finally provided. Options: 5% - 10% - 15% and 20% of the capital for providing the service.
Relocation, free choice of cemetery
Preparation and transfer from the place of death to any Spanish town/city.
Repatriation of foreign residents
Preparation and repatriation of the deceased (foreigner residing in Spain) from the place of death in Spain to the international airport nearest to the place of burial in the country of origin. Includes a return trip for a companion, from the country of origin to Spain or vice versa.
Family assistance
A professional adviser will go to wherever your family is located and provide a completely personalised service to accompany them throughout the entire process.
Basic worldwide assistance

Your family will have access to specialised legal advice regarding successions, inheritances, wills and immigration procedures (residence permits or visas)
Psychological assistance
Unlike other insurance on the market, this includes professional end-of-life and palliative care psychological support, as well as face-to-face psychological assistance and a grief helpline. The family will be provided professional support during this process, over the phone (for a year) or face-to-face (up to 3 sessions).
Psychological support in palliative care

Erasure of digital identity

Natural premium: The premium is updated annually according to the insured person's age.

Semi-natural premium: The premium is reviewed according to established age brackets.

Level premium: A more stable premium throughout the lifetime of the policy.

Natural premium: The rate is updated annually according to the age of the insured person up to 70 years old. At 71 years old, it moves to a levelled modality.

Semi-natural premium: Premiums are adjusted every 5 years. Between the ages of 67 and 71, it becomes a level premium.

Death insurance guarantees a funeral service on the decease of an insured person, as well as the management of all necessary procedures in the event of death: administrative and legal procedures, transfers to any place in Spain and international repatriations.
In our case, death insurance also takes into account 9 principles set by Fundación Tierra, which are based on environmental criteria to guide and facilitate the planning of a burial: reduction in waste products, in non-biodegradable artificial components, in toxic chemical products, in consumption of non-renewable energy, in polluting emissions, incorporating locally produced and certified natural products and materials; we also offer in-person or telephone consultations with a psychologist to take care of the rest of the family's emotional health, among other healthcare cover.

All of our death insurance policies are life-long. This means that once a death insurance policy is taken out, it is valid for the insured person's whole life unless the policyholder cancels the insurance or stops paying the premium.
If you are a foreigner and reside in Spain, DKV Protección Familiar includes the repatriation service to your home country, a round trip for a companion and other important advantages. We are the only ones to include it without any extra cost in the death policy!
Both the funeral and psychological assistance are covered in the event of death by COVID-19.
In addition, if you are travelling abroad, worldwide emergency assistance is also covered in the event of a COVID-19 contagion.
Moreover, in the event of foreign residents in Spain passing due to COVID-19, we will carry out the international transfer following the provisions of current legislation, provided that the destination country authorises reception. You can also opt for incineration in Spain and a subsequent international transfer of ashes.
