My husband and I decided to take out a health insurance policy for prevention purposes, so we could go to specialists quickly. I found a gynaecologist that helped me most with my doubts and plans of being a mother, visits, tests and recommendations.
I took out the health insurance so I could enjoy a complete monitoring of my pregnancy: 4D ultrasound, test, check-ups, etc. They also have a helpline to monitor the pregnancy and an app with which I can have virtual consultations, which has been very useful during the weeks I was resting.

Can you take out health insurance if you are already pregnant?
Yes, but bear in mind that the waiting period for childbirth is 8 months, so you would not be covered.
How many ultrasound scans can I take during the pregnancy?
Unlike Social Security, where they schedule three ultrasound scans (one in each quarter), with your health insurance, you can monitor your pregnancy taking 3D/4D scans and visit the gynaecologist for extra ultrasound scans if needed.
Can I take the medical tests in the afternoon so it doesn't get in the way of work?
Except for medical tests that are recommended when fasting, visits to the gynaecologist for check-ups and ultrasound scans can be carried out during the long visiting hours for medical care.
