What cover is not included in my home insurance?

 

The home insurance generally covers a wide range of risks, such as fire damage, theft, water damage and civil liability. However, there are several situations that are not covered or require an additional policy:

 

  • Damage due to specific natural disasters: Earthquakes, tsunamis or volcanic eruptions, floods, etc. Although the home policy does not cover it due to the fact that it has been contracted, it entitles the insured person to receive coverage through the Insurance Compensation Consortium.

     

  • Damage caused by wear or maintenance:nto: damage to structures or belongings due to lack of maintenance or natural ageing, such as cracks in walls due or deterioration of household appliances due to prolonged use.

     

  • Theft or damage outside the property:dad: theft of goods outside the home, unless it is specifically covered by the policy.

     

  • Intentional or negligent acts:ncia: damage caused intentionally by the insured person or their relatives. 

     

  • Damage to vehicles: Damage to vehicles is not usually covered by home insurance, as it requires car insurance.

     

  • Loss of specific valuable objects: Jewellery, valuable collections or art may not be covered by the basic policy, or may have a low coverage limit, sometimes you will need to include additional coverage in the insurance.
