Is my dog's compulsory civil liability covered with home insurance?

With the approval of the Animal Welfare and Rights of Animals Act of 28 March 2024, it is now, it is now compulsory to have civil liability insurance for your dog.

The act states that, for the duration of a dog's life, the holder must take out and maintain in force a civil liability insurance policy for damages to third parties, which includes in its coverage the persons responsible for the animal, for a sufficient amount of the derived costs.

With DKV, regardless of the type of policy home insurance that you have taken out, your dog's civil liability is covered. Remember that to benefit from this coverage, you must indicate the name of your dog, its breed and its chip number. (This coverage is not available for breeds classified as potentially dangerous).
