Juan Junco lives and works in Malaga. He is a visual artist, and he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, specialising in Engraving and Design, from the University of Seville and a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Artistic Production from the University of Malaga, where he is currently a student of the PhD programme of Advanced Studies in Humanities.

He is a founding member of The Richard Channin Foundation and has held two dozen solo exhibitions in galleries such as Cavecanem (Seville), Galería Alfredo Viñas (Malaga), Galería Magda Belloti (Madrid), Galería Isabel Hurley (Malaga) and Galería F2 (Madrid), as well as in several art centres such as Centro Andaluz de Arte contemporáneo (Seville), El Patio de Escuelas Menores (Salamanca), El Centro de Arte de Alcobendas (Alcobendas, Madrid) and Centro de Creación contemporánea de Andalucia (C3A). Soon also at Sala Alta del Palacio de Condes de Gabia (in preparation)

He has participated in countless group exhibitions, as well as in several editions of international art fairs, such as ARCO Madrid, ArtBo (Bogotá), ARCO Lisboa (Lisbon) and Pinta Miami.

His work has been included in several collections: CAAC, Artium, MUSAC, Centro de Arte de Alcobendas, Es Baluard, City Hall of Pamplona, Colección Cajasol, Unicaja Collection, Cajamadrid Collection, DKV Collection, Inelcom Collection and Bombas Gens.

He has won several competitive calls, including the Fronterasur Grant for Plastic Art, Iniciarte Grants, the Pepe Espaliú Prize, the Cajasol Photography Projects Grant, the Vázquez Díaz Grant, the Casa Velázquez Grant, the Pilar Citoler International Prize for Contemporary Photography and the BBVA Foundation grants for video creation.

He is currently a professor in the Art and Architecture Department's Drawing Area of the University of Malaga.
