Travel with health insurance

In the moments before you go on holiday, everything is excitement; you are looking forward to the first day of your holiday and disconnecting from your daily routine and devoting a few days to yourself. It doesn't matter if it's a short weekend getaway or your summer holiday, as long as there is enough time to switch off and return to work with your batteries recharged.

In the days leading up to the holiday, your attention is focussed on organising the transfers from one place to another, making sure you have packed everything, and gathering all the information on the places that you are going to visit…

Among all the things you are organising, you mustn't forget to cover your health in case of any unforeseen incidents, or in other words, take out health insurance for the holidays.

If you already have health insurance with all year coverage, the first thing you should do is study the conditions and coverage it offers if you are travelling abroad.

But if this is not the case, it is highly advisable to take out health insurance so that you can cope with any possible medical emergencies abroad.

We are all accustomed to our own health system where treatment is free, so it can come as quite a surprise that in countries such as the United States, the expense involved in medical repatriation to your country by plane can cost in excess of €50,000.
